The Madison County Historical Society was organized in 1884 and dedicated to the preservation and protection of the history, heritage and culture of Madison County, Indiana.
MCHS is located in the History Center at 15 West 11th Street, Anderson, Indiana. We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone is welcome to visit us during these times. We are closed Tuesday and Thursday and on major holidays. There are times, however, when we do have extended hours. This occurs when we have major displays, exhibits and educational programs. Please watch for these functions through our website and newsletter.
